Southern Cal Wednesday

 Ladies and Gentlemen,

Three days.  Only three days remain between now and the arrival of Southern Cal's football team.  And their fans, who are Gods among bros.  Conquest Chronicles is looking forward to the game, too.  Just look at that wonderful writing from Mr. Budrovich!

Players took the practice field with high spirits, a serene sense of focus and plenty of jovial tunes ladened in the hallows of Howard Jones during the closing days before departing to South Bend for the 85th meeting for these foes.
After about an hour or so of practice, USC kicked off run period to the tune of Dropkick Murphy's "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," firing up the players, and in the process setting the tempo for what should be a rather physical tilt.

coaches and players alike have certainly recognized the presence of an ever-developing running game that may have hit its fifth gear last week.
The possibility had been tossed around all week long at practice and players responses overwhelmingly showcased the support for their returning leader in the Trojans crowded backfield.

 Just stellar writing, kid.  Top-notch.

Alas, numerous Southern Cal bros will not be making the trip to Notre Dame this year along with their team.  As mentioned earlier, Orenthal James (O.J.) Simpson will not attend as he is in Clark County jail.

Southern Cal alumnus (Class of '95) Joe Francis

will likely not be attending, as odds are he will be defending himself in yet another court case of various sordid natures, as depicted here in his wikipedia profile.

Also not likely to intend, the Bro-est of all Southern Cal Bros: the front man of the world's most famous brotherhood.  I speak of course of Mohammed Morsi

PhD USC, 1982.  He will almost certainly not be attending Saturday's game, as he is currently under house arrest after being on the receiving end of the Egyptian Army's coup.  Which is a shame, because we will no longer hear this Southern Cal alumnus' pearls of wisdom, such as:

"The Zionists have no right to the land of Palestine. There is no place for them on the land of Palestine. What they took before 1947–48 constitutes plunder, and what they are doing now is a continuation of this plundering. By no means do we recognize their Green Line. The land of Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, not to the Zionists."[133] In September 2010, calling the Israelis "blood-suckers", "warmongers" and "descendants of apes and pigs", Morsi said "These futile [Israeli-Palestinian] negotiations are a waste of time and opportunities. The Zionists buy time and gain more opportunities, as the Palestinians, the Arabs, and the Muslims lose time and opportunities, and they get nothing out of it. We can see how this dream has dissipated. This dream has always been an illusion... This [Palestinian] Authority was created by the Zionist and American enemies for the sole purpose of opposing the will of the Palestinian people and its interests."

Another bro kept away from his team.  How unfortunate.

But sadly, their most brotacular coach has moved on to the Seattle Seahawks: I refer of course to Pete Carroll:

Peter Carroll.  Promoter of the WIN FOREVER!  school of football competition, he masterminded Southern Cal's return to the top of the football world, winning one national title, which may soon be vacated by the AP and BCS due to major NCAA violations on his watch.  These include, but are not limited to, the hiring of known dog fighter Todd McNair to coach his running backs and oversee six-figure payments to said running backs, such as Reggie Bush and Joe McKnight

However, Carroll is also a strict disciplinarian.  He benched Rey Maualuga for an ENTIRE SERIES after the linebacker, unprovoked, punched a fellow student in a face at a party, then ran off into the night, shouting his immortal battle cry: "I OWN THE POLICE!!!!"

Of course, Mr. Maualuga learned from his mistake, and proceeded to treat others with respect for the rest of his time at Southern Cal.

  Then again, maybe not.

I could go on with the infractions and shenanigans under Carroll's tenure, but they are best summarized here,

in several thousand words of type, which I have reproduced below:

Unfortunately for Southern Cal, all of the above, in addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars in illicit money taken by one Reggie Bush, eventually attracted the attention of the NCAA, which hit the Trojans with the worst sanctions in a decade.  USC took their whipping with calm acceptance and humility.

JUST KIDDING!!!

 This man:

Southern Cal's athletic director at the time, reacted to the sanctions by stating

“As I read the decision by the NCAA, all I could get out of all of this was … I read between the lines and there was nothing but a lot of envy, and they wish they all were Trojans,”

This, of course, was after Garrett had hired some odious replacements for Pete Carroll and his staff of ne'er do wells.

But that's another story for another day (Tomorrow)
